PNGO, having received a grant from the Welfare Association Consortium (WAC) as part of the Palestinian NGO Project II funded by the World Bank, is implementing a project entitled ‘Building Up Financial & Administrative Quality Standards''.
The project''s objectives are:
The project supported 30 member organizations in the creation and implementation of a sound administrative and financial management system enabling them to adapt to changing circumstances and comply with legal requirements.
The project''s outcomes have included: • The strengths and weaknesses within the administrative and financial systems of selected PNGO member organizations have been identified • Each participating NGO has been provided with a report about its administrative and financial strengths and weaknesses • An administrative best-practice manual and a financial best-practice manual outlining administrative and financial best practice (which can be viewed at the PNGO website: http://www.pngo.net) have been compiled • 5 workshops, comprising 20 participants each, have been held to train the staff of Palestinian NGOs (including non-PNGO member organizations) in administrative and financial best practice.
It also led to the production of administrative and financial manuals upon which every NGO can rely in order to improve its financial and administrative systems.
