The
Palestinian NGOs Network calls for controlling the national dialogue
23/2/2009
PNGO appreciates the approval of the majority of
Palestinian factions for the invitation to conduct national dialogue meetings
at the end of this month in Cairo.
PNGO considers this position is the real response to the Israeli threats that
accompanied the Israeli elections as well as the continuous siege on Gaza, the expansion of settlements and the intensive
attempts to Judaize Jerusalem and the
obstruction of the efforts to reconstruct Gaza
which will lead to prolong the suffering of the civilians who lost their homes.
Therefore we believe that the current dialogue is
still a slow respond to serious and dangerous threats, accordingly we call for:
1. Making a real and quick progress in the dialogue
that gives confidence and hope to our people.
2. Expanding the dialogue to include the political
factions as well as the representatives of civil society institutions, private
sector, professional unions, academics and national personalities, in order to
put a binding moral convention which will be the base of law organizations to
protect human dignity instead of political polarization, intolerance and sacrifice
with the society in favor of political agendas
3. Setting adequate procedures and guaranties in order
to avoid the suffering of the people due to internal divisions. Any agreement should
refer to the Palestinian people and the political factions should protect and
develop the capacities of the societies rather than sharing the positions.
4. Judging those who committed crimes or violated the
law as any national agreement shouldn't ignore this point.
5. Giving the priority to the reconstruction of Gaza, based on
transparency and professional mechanisms in order to avoid political
polarization in the process.
These are the conditions that guard our national
project and face all the challenges
